Guest Wing of Primrose Grange House.....
This beautifully presented Historic Country House is 5 minutes drive from Strandhill Beach with its fantastic walks and surfing and 5 minutes drive from Sligo town the cultural capital of the north-west.
The luxurious Guest Wing is ideal for couples, small groups or families and can be rented for weekends, midweek breaks or week long stays. Recommended by both the Irish Times and Irish Independent and also Vogue's Conde Nast Traveller Magazine (June 2011) it offers guests a spacious period yet contemporary ground floor self-catering apartment with stunning sea and mountain views, open fire and comfy beds - a realy home from home rather than a holiday home.
There is also a beautiful walled courtyard garden for the use of guests with built in BBQ, outdoor dining area, seating and fabulous sea and mountain views.
We rent the Guest Wing for a minimum of two nights from 4pm on the day of arrival until 11am on the day of departure.
Sleeping Accommodation
The Guest Wing sleeps up to a maximum of 6 people with 1 large double bedroom with King Size Bed, 1 large room with double bed and a single bed, and there is a large double sofa bed in the sitting room. We can also provide a complimentary cot for those with infants. All bedrooms have sea views. The bathroom has a walk in shower and separate full length cast iron bath for those who love to unwind...
Dining and Kitchen Facilities
The beautifully presented hand built country kitchen provides a spacious place to eat and is exceptionally well equiped with dishwasher, gas stove, electric fan oven, microwave and full laundry facilities. Views from the dining table extend over the restored gardens and to Knocknarea Mountain behind. A welcome pack awaits Guests with fresh milk, soda bread, butter and our own Free Range Eggs.
Sitting Room and Open Fire
The open fire, cosy sofas and stunning sea views... why not sit back and relax in the beautiful sitting room of the Guest Wing. Mixing period features with a contemporary twist - this is home from home...Large screen TV, DVD, CD Radio are all provided as well as reading and refernce books and games. We offer guests comlimentary hi-speed broadband internet access for their laptops or smart phones via WIFI in the kitchen/hall area.
The Guest wing has central heating throughout and heating twice daily and hot water is included in the rental price.

Facing due south, Primrose Grange House enjoys fantastic panoramic sea views with beautiful sun rises and sunsets across Ballysadare Bay below. The walled courtyard garden offers guests a beautiful place to relax in the evenings with a glass of wine or to enjoy a BBQ and eat al fresco by availing of the outside dining facilities.
Built in 1721, Primrose Grange House truly commands a stunning presence high up on Knocknarea Mountain with Panoramic views over Ballysadare Bay and the Ox mountains. The 45 minute walk up to Queen Maeve's tomb at the summit of Knocknarea is immediately behing the house.
